Once upon a time I remember my Primary teachers and parents telling me about a scripture or something about great and important information coming from the mouths of babes. Throughout the past few years I've had many experiences where important information that I needed to know was brought to my attention because of something that a child said to me.
Since I am working in a childcare center those opportunities are ever so present.
Yesterday was about an hour long episode of things coming out of the mouths of babes. The subject? The big M word. Marriage. More specifically why I'm not married. I'm only 18, that's why.
But, of course, 4 and 5 year olds only grasp the concept that I'm older than them. And since I don't go to school I, apparently, should be married. GAH!!
For about the past month or so the kiddos and I have had several conversations about marriage, more specifically about the 'wedding party' that I'll have once I'm married. Love those kids, but seriously, why now?
and of course you can't forget such awesome sayings such as "My heart is bleeding!!!" and "You look grumpy. You must be a lawyer."
ReplyDeleteOh kids! I told my class that my brother was married and they were like WOW, he must be OLD! And I told them he was younger than me and they were like, Wow! Why aren't YOU married then? Haha!
ReplyDeleteHaha. I LOVE little kids. :D
