I so love being here in Salt Lake City! But especially being at LDS Business College.
People are so caring here it is ridiculous! But it's great!!! I LOVE IT!!!!
Tuesday mornings at 11:10 we have a devotional. Today Elder Gonzalez of the Seventy spoke. He spoke about 'signing in' (to the Spirit and the Gospel) and 'signing out' of things that can distract us (Facebook, texting, Seventeen magazine, etc.). 'Signing out' does not mean never login or look at those things, it simply means to realize how long you spend looking at the site, magazine, etc. and deciding whether it is a good use of your time or not. And then ACT ACCORDINGLY!!! Use what you know and sign out. And then sign in to the good things.
But that's not what I was going to write about. Not really. During devotional I was able to sit behind a row of men that are hearing impaired. They had a translator there who was signing what Elder Gonzalez was saying. I took some sign languages classes in junior high and I still remember some of it. So I was half listening to Elder Gonzalez and 100% watching as the lady signed. And I understood a bunch of the stuff! I really loved watching how a bunch of people, before going to sit down, took the time to walk a little out of their way to go talk to the men who are hearing impaired. And they did not just say 'hello' or 'how are you?' They talked for a few minutes with EACH man. It was so great seeing that! And the best part was seeing them 'sing'. Remember in Napoleon Dynamite how they have the Happy Hands Club? It was like that but 50 times better! LOVED IT!! :D
P.S. I went to the temple this morning! It was great! :D
