Cars + ice = lots of cars in my ditch

So yesterday afternoon, around 4:00 pm, as we were coming home from class in Fairbanks & rounded the curb to our house guess what we saw? A car in our ditch. That guy was in there good. & looked like he'd been there for quite some time. A truck came along and was able to pull him out. Lucky ducky. Can you guess why he went into the ditch? He was going to fast around the slippery corner. If he hadn't turned as much as he did he would have hit a telephone pole almost head on. But can you guess what he did once his car got out? He might have said thank you, maybe... But then he sped off down the road! That's what got him into that predicament in the first place! Be careful on the roads!
So the title is plural cars... because there was another one! After watching the movie 2012, (not that bad but also not the best movie I've seen) around 9:30 last night, we saw lights outside our front window so we looked out to see what was going on. There was a car stuck in the snow right outside the front window! He had come around a different curve too quickly. We were also able to see him climb out of the window of his car. He never did come knock on the door to see if we could help him. But when we looked back out the window about 10 minutes later the car and its owner were gone.
Those lucky duckies weren't stranded. But seriously, would you drive fast on icy back roads?
And then guess what? I was kept up almost all night by silly people who decided that it was a good idea to ride their snowmachines around from midnight to 3 or maybe even 4 in the morning. I also slept with my thinnest blanket the entire night & was pretty dang cold. Getting up early on a Saturday morning after that? Not so fun. But such is life. So I'll make the best of it. :D

  1. Crazy Drivers! If it's any consolation it was 62* here today! ;) But we don't have Ice Art... so I guess it's a trade off. Enjoy the end of winter!
