Where I Am From - Original Poem

I am from cold,
Santa’s hometown.
I am from teasing and laughing,
Swimming and driving.
I am from new adventures
And spontaneous decisions.

I am from constant meowing and woofing,
Grunting and a little bit of growling.
I am from a valley with stars and mountains,
Trees and rivers,
Hikes and dances.

I am from a place of social deterioration.
I am from texters and tweeters, and Facebookers,
But not friends and acquaintances.
I am from social awkwardness.

I am from darkness and snow,
Strangers and unkind actions.
I am from a place I love
Although it’s not perfect,
I call it home.
