Friends and Conference

This afternoon my guy friend and I stood in the standby line, hoping to get into the afternoon session of General Conference. We got into the line about an hour and a half before the session started. The line was already long, but we tried to be optimistic. We were soo close! A bunch of people in front of us were able to go in. But when we were almost to the front of the line (there were only five people in front of us) the man in charge of the standby line informed us that the Conference Center was full. He told us we could go to the Tabernacle, to the North Visitor's Center, or to the Legacy Theater inside the Conference Center.

We opted for the Legacy Theater. That way we could tell our friends and family that we saw Conference AT the Conference Center. Yes, we tease. When we got to the doors, they were locked. A worker came over and told us the Legacy Theater was already filled. LAME!

So we walked back over to Temple Square and decided to go to the North Visitor's Center and go into their small theater. There was one open seat. And two of us. We ended up sitting in the hall outside of that theater. We got to see lots of little kids come out of the theater with exhausted parents. I really do miss seeing kids all the time. :(

But Conference was great!

I also got to see two sister missionaries serving in Salt Lake City; I know them from Alaska!

After Conference, we met up with my guy friend from Alaska, Scott. The lucky duck got tickets to almost every session! So the three of us walked and talked for a while. We stopped and got smoothies. Then we walked and talked some more. It was really cool seeing my Alaska friend and my Utah friend getting along so well. My two worlds meshed in a matter of minutes. All three of us had a lot of fun. And then the guys went off to the Priesthood session of Conference.

It was great. I can't wait for tomorrow. I'll be able to see the afternoon session of Conference for sure. My friend has an extra ticket and invited me! EEK!! :D I'm also going to go ridiculously early tomorrow and get in the standby line! :D

I hope everyone is doing great!

P.S. I get to see at least 3 people from Alaska tomorrow!!!! :D
